She woke up, the alarm ringing in her ears. It was a typical Wednesday morning.
“Should’ve called in sick…”
Any other day she would’ve slept ‘til noon, ate ramen for breakfast and watched reruns of her favorite TV shows. However, Wednesday was the one day a week she had to work. Assassination contracts don’t fill themselves out.
“Morning Sunshine~” Haru called from behind as she walked to their agency. He handed her a juice that she swiftly chugged without a second thought.
“Morning Haru…” She tossed the bottle she had rapidly depleted into a trash can and gave a sigh.
“What’s wrong with you?? You only work one out of every seven days a week.. I’d kill for that position.”
“Well, ironically, you do kill.”
“Har har har how funny.”
“What? It’s true.”
A kiss on the cheek made her blush as Haru ran inside.
“See you later, Lady Death~”
“Oh you asshole.” She spoke and her face flared with embarrassment.
Close to Midnight, her last victim came into her view. He was walking home. The man had sun-kissed skin, dirty blonde hair, and a nicely toned body. How could she kill him? As she slunk down, she accidentally bumped a trashcan that gave away her position.
‘Dammit, if he catches me I am literally screwed.’
The man didn’t notice and walked past her. She waited a good minute or two before she emerged to find him standing there, staring at her. His blue eyes penetrated her heart and she had to look away as she unsheathed her weapon.
“Hello, Eve.”
“Hey, Haru.”
“So, I’m your target?”
“Yeah…”
Without hesitation, Haru walked forward, he pulled Eve’s blade into his chest and walked forward onto it, the last things he did made her cry.
First, he whispered how much he loved her, and that he would miss her. Second, he kissed her. He gave her a long, deep kiss, filled with love and passion. As he took his last breath in her arms, she felt her world lose a color. Blue. She would never see blue ever again. For it would remind her of him, her love, her life, her soulmate. Until the day Eve would inevitably end her own life, she would never be the same.
